Aramid fabrics are high-performance composite reinforcements known for their exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, impact resistance and durability.

Commonly recognised under trade names such as Kevlar® and Twaron®, aramid fibres are  synthetic organic polymers produced through a controlled spinning process, resulting in highly oriented molecular structures. This gives the material its characteristic combination of high tensile strength, low density and excellent energy absorption properties.

Within composite applications, aramid fabrics are widely used where resistance to impact, abrasion and fatigue is critical, while maintaining a lightweight structure.

Key Benefits

  • High strength-to-weight ratio

  • Excellent impact and energy absorption performance

  • Outstanding abrasion and wear resistance

  • Good fatigue resistance under cyclic loading

  • Lightweight reinforcement for structural applications

Product Range

The Cristex range of aramid fabrics includes composite-grade materials available in a variety of weights, weave styles and fibre specifications.

  • Fabric weights ranging from approximately 60 g/m² to 460 g/m²

  • Available in plain, twill and satin weaves

  • Balanced constructions for consistent performance

  • Suitable for a wide range of composite manufacturing processes

Our materials are selected to support reliable processing and consistent performance across demanding applictions.
