ADD-UP2 promotes adhesion between Polyester gelcoats and epoxy resin laminates. ADDUP-2 additive is mixed into the Polyester gelcoat, no abrasion or solvent surface wipe required. Additionally, ADD-UP2 aids curing and can be used in Gel Coat repairs where sanding and polishing are required. ADDUP-2 has no impact on mechanical properties of the gelcoat, UV stability, gloss retention and water/chemical resistance.
Primary Applications:
- Epoxy-Polyester/Vinylester Bonding
– Formulated to be mixed into gelcoat before application to promote adhesion between polyester/vinylester gelcoats and subsequent epoxy laminates.
– Eliminates the need for mechanical surface prep like sanding or solvent wiping – since it becomes part of the gelcoat. - Speeds up Curing
– Slightly accelerates gelcoat cure time, allowing epoxy overlaminate to be applied as soon as 1 hour after gelcoat cure – or even up to 48 hours later, without compromising performance. - Enhancing Finish
– Supports sanding and polishing for repair and finishing processes.
– Maintains key properties of the gelcoat – like UV resistance, flame retardancy, gloss and water/chemical resistance, without adverse effects.
