Picker/Packer, Blackburn
The role
- Loading and unloading of material rolls and movement of materials around the factory
- Correctly understand and complete job related instructions
- Visual checks & fault flags remove waste & poor quality products
- Monitor quality and consistency of product, identifying and removing all non-conforming products, set up and in-process waste, placing into provided bins
- Packaging of finished composites for dispatch
- Responsible for correct packing for transportation, minimizing possibility of damage during transport
- Ensuring that all operations are carried out and complete necessary paperwork /Job cards completed to ISO standards as outlined in company manual
- Responsibility for keeping a clean & organized working environment
- Working to strict deadlines whilst maintaining quality control
- Alerting senior management to any stock issues
- To communicate fully with all relevant parties and assist whenever issues arise relating to your specific area of responsibility within the department
- To respond professionally and efficiently to any contact with internal/external customers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production or packing role is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks consistently
- Proficiency in stock management and shipping procedures
- Familiarity with quality control processes is beneficial
- Basic mechanical knowledge for operating packaging equipment is desirable
You will be responsible for the end of the production process – performing the final quality control and finishing functions on them, you’ll also prepare the roll so it’s ready to go out to the client.
Responsibilities
- Perform picking and packing duties in a production environment
- Utilise pump trucks to move materials and products as needed
- Handle heavy lifting tasks to load and unload goods
- Conduct quality control checks on packed items to maintain high standards
- Manage stock levels and assist with shipping and receiving tasks
- Apply mechanical knowledge to operate packaging machinery effectively
- Safely handle materials using appropriate handling techniques
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.25 per week
